No Strain on the Vein.com is a community of individuals, family and friends affected by arteriovenous malformations (AVM), aneurysms and cavernous malformation.
A heart felt thank you to my guests, volunteers and donors. You all helped make the 2011 Gala a wonderful success!
With the help of all the people mentioned above No Strain on the Vein was able to meet their goal. We have donated $7,500.00 to Toronto Western Hospital educational unit for patients and family.
This site was created to promote awareness, No Strain on the Vein's founder, Melissa Gomes provides insight into living with an arteriovenous malformation and the challenges she and her family have had to face. Her mission is to provide an outlet where others with similar challenges can and communicate their stories and share their experiences.
Let us all work together to help educate those among us about these life changing disorders.
Please participate in the No Strain on the Vein.com forum. This forum is a venue for those affected by AVM's, Aneurysm's and Cavernous Malformations including family and friends. Feel free to express yourself, ask questions or support each other.

Are you looking for a support group to help you through this difficult time? I have the place for you, every first Thursday of the month (for the exception of Janurary) Toronto Western Hospital has a group session for people who have AVM's, Aneurysms or Cavernoma's. The meeting begins at 4:00pm and ends at 5:30pm. Below are the meeting details:

At last, bulbs are sprouting and there is the odd green blade of grass. Yes, we certainly seem to be coming out of hibernation. Actually, hibernating is about the last thing the Support Group organizers have been doing. We’ve been working hard all winter to set up the meetings for this year.
Those of you who have been before know that it can be a stimulating, informative and yet very caring and empathetic experience.
If you are considering coming for the first time, you can be assured that you will be treated with total respect and can contribute as much, or as little, as you wish.
Spend 90 minutes with us, you’ll find it well worth the effort. And bring along your significant other, care-giver or other support
people. We’d love to meet you all
